Pedro is one of Dahlia's puppies.  Dahlia is a Yorkie and we believe daddy to be a Chihuahua.  This puppy is incredibly sweet and playful.

I was contacted about Dahlia by Tri-State K9 Lifeline in Kentucky.   They notified me that she was pregnant and due soon and asked if we could assist.  We immediately said yes and made arrangements for her to travel to Pennsylvania.  Dahlia had other plans and went into labor on 6/15/14 and presented us with these seven precious pups.  Dahlia and family arrived in Pennsylvania on 6/28/14.  Dahlia is either a Yorkie or Silky terrier.   Daddy was equally something tiny, and we strongly suspect he was a Chihuahua.  The pups have been well socialized.  The puppies have been eating Iams Puppy food since they were weaned.   The puppies have been wormed every week since they arrived in our care except for the week of their shots.  When I worm puppies, I do it three days in a row with Pyrantel Pamoate, or when they are old enough, we give them a Virbantel table which is an all-purpose wormer.  We believe puppies should be consistently wormed until they are 12 weeks old and placed on a heartworm preventative that also contains anti-parasitic meds.    The puppies are also treated with Marquis Paste which is an anti-protozoa medication.  Most puppies or their mothers are exposed to Coccidia, a protozoa parasite, which can cause diarrhea if left untreated, and we proactively treat for it with the Marquis paste.  These puppies were handled with kid gloves do to their incredibly tiny size.  We held off on vaccinating them until they were 8 weeks old.  Also, we normally microchip our puppies prior to them going home, but they are simply to small for such a large needle.  We will send the Microchipping kit home with you.  When you get your puppy spayed/neutered, you can have your vet inject the microchip while they under anesthesia.
