O'Malley (pictured on the left) is one gorgeous fluff-ball of a puppy!! He (and his siblings Hope, Lucie Lu, Lucky, and Char Lynn) came to us all the way from a very high kill shelter in South Carolina. They were all scheduled to be euthanized that very day, but luckily with the help of caring folks in SC, we were able to bring them into our rescue.

These pups are a mix of two strong, intelligent breeds -- chow & dutch shepherd. O'Malley is very chow looking -- he has the dense fluffy coat seen in long-haired chows, with beautiful light golden highlights, presumably from his dutch shepherd heritage. He is about the fluffiest puppy I ever did see!!

Also, true to intelligence being the hallmark of these breeds, all of these pups were paper-trained in just a single day at my home. They have never soiled their bed area, and I believe they will housetrain very quickly.

Upon arriving into foster care, O'Malley (like his sister Char Lynn, who is pictured above) was very ill with a serious virus. We immediately got them proper veterinary care, and they have recovered and are doing great.

O'Malley has quite the personality --he is very outgoing & extremely affectionate; he seems to crave human contact. He was quite the favorite when he was at the vet's office. At home, O'Malley will snuggle up next to me, and he just loves when I hug and pet him. With other pups, O'Malley also does just fine. While, at first, he initially may assert himself a little, that is short-lived. He will eat peacefully alongside his sister and play just fine with her.

O'Malley also loves to play with squeaky toys and his tennis ball. He loves to chase the bouncing ball and bring it back to his bed. He is always up for a fun game and always loves to get attention from his human foster family.

One thing is very clear, O'Malley is a love bug -- he loves for me to hold him and love on him. I expect he (like others in this litter) will bond very closely with their human family.

O'Malley is looking for a family who will give him the love and people-contact to which he so readily responds. This affectionate pup will make a wonderful addition to a family who understands his mix of breeds.

Chows and dutch shepherds are both extremely intelligent breeds; but along with that, they also can be strong willed. They make wonderful, loyal family companions, so long as they have strong leadership and consistent guidance from the members of their human family. For that reason, we are recommending that O'Malley be adopted to a family with experienced caregivers who do not have very small children.

If you have the time, ability and willingness to commit to O'Malley for the rest of his life -- regardless of what lies ahead in yours -- please fill out an online adoption application. ONLY COMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE PROCESSED.

O'Malley is being fostered in a private home. Therefore, only approved applicants will be invited to meet him.

If, AFTER YOU HAVE COMPLETED AN ONLINE APPLICATION, you would like more information about O'Malley, please email his foster mom directly at cmonaco1@juno.com.

Thank you for wanting to open your heart and home to one of our wonderful rescue pups.
