Contact Chase's Caretaker/Foster Directly: Suzanne (suehollenbach@comcast.net) Belle's Litter of Ten Puppies
Little Chase came to me with his mommy and litter when he was one week old. His mommy's owner had a tragedy in his life that forced him to move quickly to somewhere he couldn't take a momma dog with a litter of puppies. Homeward Bound stepped forward and took in momma and puppies, and we will be returning the momma who is pure bred AKC registered Yellow Lab to her owner once the puppies no longer need her. Of course, momma is being spayed by Homeward Bound to make sure she never goes through this again. Gary Maddox and the Philadelphia Phillies helped Homeward Bound raise over $2000 this past month, and in thanks to them, each puppy in the litter is being named after a player or former player. These puppies have been well socialized and well cared for while in our home. The first four weeks of their existence someone was present around the clock to take care of them and their needs. We even paid for a daytime babysitter to be there while we were at work. They have consistently been around children and other dogs and are enjoying their first forays into the outdoor world. It's too cute watching them walk through the tall grass for the first time. They have gone for their first health check up and shots at Farrell Veterinary Clinic and received a glowing report. It helps that their mother was well cared for medically and did not have any parasites while she carried and nursed the puppies. That has given them a wonderful start in life. Their mother weighs close to 95lbs and she is a large American Yellow Lab, so we expect these pups to be large. One pup has no tail (born naturally that way) and one pup has the coloring of Australian Shepherd, so we think daddy could have been an Australian Shepherd. These puppies will be adopted out at 8 weeks of age. We DO NOT agree with the practice of pediatric spay/neuters, so they will not be fixed prior to adoption. We will return $30 of your adoption fee when you provide us with proof of their spay/neuter.
