Caleb is so happy and beautiful, it is hard to understand how he ended up in a high kill shelter in rural Virginia.
He is doing so well with training that his trainer thinks he may have already had some basic obedience before he came into the shelter. He was picked up as a stray and never reclaimed. Caleb looks like a purebred black Lab, except his coat is very short and he has some white on his chest.
His foster Mom says he is eating like a pig, and will hopefully put on weight quickly. He was very thin when brought into the shelter, but otherwise healthy.
Caleb wants a special home that will give him plenty of attention and exercise. Like most Retrievers, he loves to be with people.
