Heavenbound Ziggy Stardust ("Bowie"), a blue merle Australian Shepherd, was
whelped on May 5, 2006, and bred by Barbara Bawden of Heavenbound Kennel in Guysville, Ohio. Bowie has started training in agility, in a beginner class at Canine Companions in Middletown, PA. He is smart, friendly, sweet, and affectionate, and very active, as 15
month old Aussies tend to be. Originally adopted by a family in Middletown, PA, he had to
be given up for adoption, as they had no place for him to exercise. His was then adopted by a couple with two other Aussies, one of them a dominant male. Although Bowie and the other male got along most of the time, Bowie is a young dog who likes to jump, play, and
herd other dogs, and the other male didn't like to be herded. Therefore, he is up for adoption to a home that can provide him with a place to exercise, and preferably with a family that would train him in agility. He will excel in agility, as he has the drive and
temperament for it, and is already showing the focus of a top-notch agility dog. He would also do very well in frisbee events, flyball, and/or herding. It should be understood that he would do the best in a home with no other dogs, as he likes being the center of
attention. However, if there are other dogs in the home, the other dog(s) should enjoy or at least tolerate being herded, or the prospective owners should be owners of other performance dogs, and be willing to crate and work with Bowie as needed.
