Rosie came to us on January 15th with her six puppies. We had been told that she was going to be euthanized because she was crippled - probably from a car accident. She rarely uses her front right leg. We decided we couldn't let that happen to this family. When Rosie was taken to a vet to get a health certificate in order to travel to us, she was recognized by the attending vet. Here she had been hit by a car three years ago and her limp is now permanent. However, Rosie doesn't know that there is anything wrong with her. She gets along perfectly fine on her three legs. I often find my self call ing her Hop-along-Rosie or Hoppie. She is as a happy as any dog I've ever rescued and she isn't in any pain. In fact, when she isn't thinking, she uses that front right leg. She saw a bunny in our yard the one day, and before we knew it, she took off running at a full sprint and was using her front leg. Rosie has an incredibly sweet and pleasing personality. She is incredibly patient with her puppies and is very gentle around children. She can live in any type of home because she has absolutely no issues going up and down staircases. She is incredibly smart too. When she wants to go out or wants more attention, she sits back on her back feet and paws us with her front legs. She will make someone a fantastic pet if they mind that she walks a little differently then other dogs. If you would like to meet her, please complete our online adoption application which can be found at www.homewardbound2u.rescuegroups.org.
