Abbie has found her forever home this past weekend.  She has a huge property to run on with her new family and a pond just meant for frolicking.  Her new owners sent us her new cover photo showing her crashed out and relaxing and they sent the following note about her.  We are so very happy for Abbie and her new family.

Note from Abbie's parents.

Hi Sue and Bill,

Well, our first day and night with Abbie are over and, what can we say.  She is PERFECT and very expressive.  She played ball, did her business, slept on the couch with me, ate fine and crated with no fuss.  She knows how to sit and stay (maybe with a little correction) and we even left for about an hour and she did fine.  She went for a long walk too.  She really is trying to make friends with the cats, but they’re still not too sure about it yet – just a matter of time.  She also slept on the bed and was less restless than we were.  At 6 this morning, she kind of moved around and laid upside down for a belly rub.  Then it was out to the yard for a morning poop.  Life is good.

Thanks again for bringing her into our family.  It’s really amazing how she’s fit right in.  It’s actually a little uncanny.

Abbie came to us in mid March.  We were originally told that she was pregnant but we have found out that she was not.  We had her spayed once our vet verified that she wasn't pregnant.  She is HW negative, UTD on all shots, and is just a total delight to have in the home.  We think that she is a Jack Russel Sheltie mix.  She doesn't have the incessant energy of a Jack but she has the boxy build and shorter coat.  She will make someone a wonderful lap dog if that is what they are looking for in a pet.  She is shy at first but quickly warms up and just wants to be near you.  She is housetrained and has never had an accident in my home.   I kept her in a crate at first, but she now has the freedom of my home when I am at work.  She is also a great sleeper, so if you like to sleep late, she will just curl up tight against you and go back to sleep until you are ready to get up.  This is one of those diamonds that you find in fostering, and you can't imagine why anyone would ever have gotten rid of her.  She just doesn't have any flaws.
