Contact Bear's Caretaker/Foster Directly: Suzanne (suehollenbach@comcast.net) Doxi Australian Terrier mixes
Bear is one of Honey's babies, and he is the loverboy. Bear loves giving kisses and likes to mimic you. He will also follow you were ever you go. His favorite place to be is in your lap. If you would like to meet Bear, please complete our online adoption app at http://homewardbound2u.rescuegroups.org. Once your application is approved, the foster mom will be in contact about setting up a visit. Sue Hollenbach will be processing the adoption applications for this litter. I was contacted about Honey and her litter of puppies by Bath County Humane Society in Kentucky. They notified me that she had just given birth and asked if we could assist. We immediately said yes and made arrangements for her to travel to Pennsylvania with her little family. Honey and family arrived on 5/31/14. Honey appears to be a Doxi or Corgi mix. Because of her petite size and smaller bone structure, we are leaning towards Doxi. We think daddy may have been an Australian Terrier. The pups have been exposed to children and other adult dogs. The puppies have been eating Iams Puppy food since they were weaned. The puppies have been wormed every week since they arrived in our care except for the week of their shots. When I worm puppies, I do it three days in a row with Pyrantel Pamoate, or when they are old enough, we give them a Virbantel table which is an all-purpose wormer. We believe puppies should be consistently wormed until they are 12 weeks old and placed on a heartworm preventative that also contains anti-parasitic meds. The puppies are also treated with Marquis Paste which is an anti-protozoa medication. Most puppies or their mothers are exposed to Coccidia, a protozoa parasite, which can cause diarrhea if left untreated, and we proactively treat for it with the Marquis paste.
