Meet: Macy! She is VERY big and will be extremely large when full grown - around 140 lbs. She is estimated to be 8-9 months. She thinks she is an alpha, and will likely try to assert that when mature. She is very affectionate and definitely enjoys the company of people. She kisses me every opportunity she gets. She is a little swatty with her paws, but I am working HARD on keeping 4 paws on the ground. I would not recommend her for a home with children as she is also a little mouthy - she doesn't clamp down, but she definitely wants to put your hand in her mouth. She likes to give the newfie nudges and lean on you to get super close. She is making great progress on all of her behaviors.  She knows her name, sit, and come (she does really well with come).  We are working on stay and down. 

She has done well with our dogs. She did growl a little bit when we introduced them, but it was not an aggressive growl (more of an "I am here and totally freaking out because I want to play so badly"). She is respectful of their space and when they have toys.  Macy enjoys chewing on bones and playing with toys.

Macy does not appear to be familiar with walking on a leash, but we are working on that skill. She is house trained and is doing well in a large kennel. We haven't tried her in a crate yet. The rescue from which she originates said that she did not do well in the car, but she has done very well for me (aside from drooling at lot).

She is spayed and up to date on shots. We are going to need to be very selective about the home to which she goes.   If you would like to be considered to meet Macy, you must have an approved application with Homeward Bound Animal Rescue.
