Belle
Belle

Belle came into our organization as an owner surrender. She and her litter mates were found in a box on the side of a road when they were a few months old. New homes were found for all the puppies, all except Belle. She was left outside and wasn't played with or loved. Someone took notice of this and offered to take Belle off of their hands. But because Belle was not socialized and not use to humans, it made it very difficult for her to fit into her new family. Belle was very weary of humans, especially men and had never been in a house before. It took us a couple of days, but Belle warmed up to my husband, our 3 dogs, and even my young son. She never barked, never showed any signs of aggression, and amazingly never had an accident in the house. Belle was adopted by her forever family in April and is doing great. They report that she loves spending time with her sister, Peaches, and the rest of the family and she thoroughly enjoys lounging around on the couch snug as a bug in a rug. She graduated from obedience school and is one smart little girl. She is very playful and full of energy. Belle is very much loved and gives twice as much in return. You can see more pictures of Belle with her sister Peaches by clicking on the link to her web page. Thank you to her adopted family and to Homeward Bound for giving this sweet girl the life she so deserves.

Bubby
Bubby

Bubby and two siblings were survivors. Their litter was struck with pavro virus, but kind guardian angels The Orrs worked hard to save these fluffy little puppies. Only three of the litter lived through the disease, and came to Homeward Bound healthy, but a bit scared. His forever Mom spotted him on our website while looking for a new friend for dog Harley. His new name is Ranger. As you can see in the photos, he is in love with his new big sister, has a dog friend named Cooper next door to play with, and enjoys the attention of all his cat friends. His Mom writes, "I can't imagine life without him. Thank you for bringing him into our lives!" Ranger started school this month, and is doing so well, Mom and Dad hope he might be able to become a therapy dog! Way to go Ranger!

Beau
Beau

Little Beau is now answering to Angus - or Gus for short. Here are a few pictures of his first attempt at swimming! And an update from his new mommy. It was hysterical! I think he was more interested in playing with the big dogs than he was with actually swimming. We went to the vet last week and he got a clean bill of health. As much as we love snow and winter weather, we are hoping for an early spring this year b/c little Angus hates to be cold! He's gotten into the habit of only going a little bit when he's outside and finishing up as soon as he comes back in! I also think he's trying to outsmart us. I swear sometimes he just squats down to make us think he's going just so he can get a treat! UPDATE on ANGUS Angus is now embracing his Labrador heritage and is begining to swim. He took his first lap the other week. And it appears that he hasn't gotten over his dislike of the cold because he now loves to play in the snow as his latest picture shows. Congratulations to Angus!
