Meet Diesel!   He is one of Sophie's puppies. Diesel is such a laid back boy. His favorite thing is getting belly rubs. He is full of energy and loves to play, but when he is done he will roll over and be waiting for belly rubs.  We had tried to rescue Sophie from a bad situation while she was still pregnant, but her owners refused to surrender her.  Sophie gave birth around 4/5/16 in a less then desirable situation.  The owners finally decided to surrender her and her puppies to our partner group in KY, Dumas Rescue, on 4/30/16.  By then those poor puppies had urine burns on their bellies because of the dirty environment they were forced to live in for the first few weeks of their lives.  They arrived in Pennsylvania on 5/7/16 and joined our group.  We continue to treat their bellies with A&D ointment, and now it is totally healed.  We have wormed the puppies every week since their arrival except the week of their shots.  Their fecal test was negative for parasites.  They received their first Distemper Combo shot on 5/17/16.  They went to Gettysburg Pike Animal Clinic on 5/24/16 for their health cert to clear them for adoption and microchipping.  Everyone received a clean bill of health.   If you are interested in meeting these puppies, you must have an approved adoption application which can be filled out at http://homewardbound2u.rescuegroups.org.  Sue Hollenbach and Carla Hughes will be processing your adoption application.  If your app is approved, it will be handed off to Marissa Trimmer who will then contact you about a visit.  The puppies foster home is located in Etters, PA 17319.  Please MapQuest the city to make sure you are willing to travel to their foster home before you complete the adoption application.  We do out-of-state adoptions, but we require you to appear in person.  WE DO NOT SHIP PUPPIES.
