Meet Ava!  Ava is one of Daisy's puppies.  Ava is the runt of the litter and was impacted the most by the fleas.  She is going to be half the size of her siblings at adulthood.  She is a little more shy than her siblings because they push her around so much.  She is getting special attention from her foster home, so she can eat by herself without the others pushing her out of the way.  Her mother Daisy appears to be a pure bred beagle.  We have no idea what daddy might be, but I would strongly suspect another beagle or hound mix.  These puppies are definitely a mix of hounds.  There mother was surrendered along with her four babies to one of our partner groups in Kentucky.  When we received these puppies, they were infested with fleas.  They have had several medicated baths while in our care to try and heal the damage the fleas inflected on their skin.  There was some hair loss around their ears where the fleas had really dug into them.  The skin looks to be healed up and the hair is begining to grow back on the areas of hair loss.  We have wormed them every week since they arrived with Panacur except the week of their shots.  They have received a clean fecal reading and a clean bill of health from our veterinarian, Timberview Vets.  They were microchipped, and our organization pays the registration fee for the adopter.  If you want to meet these puppies or their mom Daisy, you must have an approved adoption application on file.  You can apply online at http://homewardbound2u.rescuegroups.org.  Sue Hollenbach will review your applications and will hand off the approved applicants to the foster mom, Angela.  These puppies are located in a foster home in York, PA.  We do out-of-state adoptions, but you must be willing to travel to the foster home.
