Meet: Avery.  Avery is a female Flat-coated retriever (mom) and possible rottweiler (dad).  This girl was the dominant female of her littermates, but since she has been introduced into my home and my dogs, she is learning that she is no longer in charge.  She is very affectionate toward humans and loves to be held and cuddled.   She will curl up in my son's lap and fall asleep.  She is submissive to my two bigger dogs and thinks the Chihuahua is a playmate.

Avery is well on her way to being housebroken and sleeping in a cage at night.  Right now, she will sleep from approximately 9:30 until 5 a.m.  She rarely has accidents in the house.  She loves to be with her humans, and just hangs out and plays with her toys in the room you are located.

Avery has had her first two rounds of shots.  We do NOT believe in pediatric spay/neuter and our contract requires that the puppy is fixed at the expense of the adopter by nine months of age. 

All of our puppies are microchipped, but the adopter must register the microchip number with the microchip database.  The microchip registration fee is pre-paid by Homeward Bound Animal Rescue. 

If you are interested in meeting Avery, you must have an approved application with Homeward Bound Animal Rescue.  If you are not prepared to take Avery to you home during your meeting, please do NOT apply for her.  We are not a boarding kennel and do not hold dogs.  Our puppies are adopted to the best, first-available home. 

The minimum donation required to adopt Avery is $350.
