Staley
Staley

Staley, now known as Tippy, and his 3 brothers were rescued from a high kill shelter in North Carolina. We are happy to report that all 3 have found their new forever homes and couldn't be happier. Tippy now has 3 new little brothers to play with (of the human kind) and he couldn't be happier. You can see more pictures of Tippy with his brothers by clicking on the link to his home page.

Sandie
Sandie

My husband and I began our search for a new addition to the family in January 2007 which led us to Homeward Bound. I had lengthy discussions with the director, Sue Hollenbach about our wishes for a new family member as well as our interest in volunteering/fostering. Sandie came to us mid-January as or first official foster. She had been an owner surrender and was in pretty bad shape due to a bached spay at the shelter where she came from. The moment I brought her home we knew we were going to adopt her (I think Sue secretly knew this all along). She just fit perfectly into our family of 5 consisting of my husband and I, our then 8 month old son, and our 2 border collie/sheltie mixes. It couldn't of been a better match for us. We adopted her at the end of January and nursed her back to health with the help of some wonderful veterinarians, she is now 100%. She is such a joy and my son just absolutely adores her. She is so patient and tolerant of him and loves him right back, probably because he sneeks her snacks all the time!!! Our family is complete and we have continued to volunteer and have fostered 7 other dogs since. It is extremely rewarding and Sue, as well as the other volunteers are very helpful. I would encourage anyone to give it a try and make a difference in an animals life, in most cases, we are there only hope. Thank you Homeward Bound!!! Payton and Baylor
Payton and Baylor

These 2 brothers needed a new home because their family had to relocate. They were very fortunate to find a family willing to adopt both! What a wonderful family to open their home to 2 beautiful brothers! I am sure that Payton and Baylor will spend the rest of their lives receiving alot of hugs and love!

Mocha
Mocha

Mocha was found as a stray roaming the streets searching for food and a warm place to sleep. After being rescued by Homeward Bound, Mocha was adopted shortly after and is very happy in her new home. She has been to the beach on vacation and is doing wonderfully. She gets to go walking every morning with her new mom. You may view more pictures of Mocha by clicking on the link to her web page.

Winnie
Winnie

Meet Winnie the Golden girl! She was rescued from a shelter in West Virginia. Winnie was heartworm positive and had little hope, but thanks to Homeward Bound's efforts and many generous donations, Winnie was treated and is now living it up with her new forever family. Winnie is special because most often dogs that are homeless and found to be heartworm positive are euthenized because they are considered financial burdens and lost causes. As you can clearly see in her picture at her new home, Winnie is anything but. She is a wonderful and loving companion and spends most of her time curled up on the couch with a good book, the life every dog should enjoy. Please click to Winnies homepage where you can see more pictures of her and her new family.
